Hey guys
Hope everyone is safe from Hurricane Sandy and I hope the least amount of people will possible will lose power.
That being said I wanted to get this post out before there is no power.
The importance of footwork.
Footwork is the most underrated part of tennis. Footwork can increase a person's reaction time, endurance, and it will allow people to reach some shots that people couldn't normally get. If a person develops proper footwork they will guaranteed start winning more matches.
Here's how to do footwork.
When a person is about to serve and tosses the ball in the air, the person should split step. Some people say to do it as the person is hitting the ball, but that an end up being to late.
During a baseline rally, split step when the other person is swinging right before they are about to hit the ball.
When you are going to hit a ball make sure you are constantly doing small steps and are on your tippy toes. It should be almost as if as if you are doing a series of small jumps before you are going to hit the ball. But you have to make sure that as you are swinging you are set and balanced, or else the shot will either be a mishit or it will create an unforced error.
Hope everyone stays safe!
Thanks
